Each year, PIELC organizers reserve funding to help panelists and attendees who want to come to the conference but cannot afford to make the trip. Funds are very limited, and organizers make every effort to distribute them fairly. This year we expect to have over 300 panelists and 2000 attendees from all over the globe. Unfortunately, travel stipends cannot be provided to everyone who requests them. Organizers will award stipends based on need, considering many factors, including the organization that the applicant represents, how far the applicant must travel, and the diversity that the applicant will bring to the conference.
If you are considering a travel stipend, an additional way to offset your cost of attending the conference can be done through alternative housing. Upon request, PIELC organizers work with students and faculty to provide panelists and attendees places to stay. If you are interested in staying with a UO student or faculty, please contact PIELC organizers and provide the dates that you will need housing and any special considerations (e.g. wheelchair access or pet allergies) that will help us place you.
To apply for a travel stipend, please provide us your basic contact information and explain your need below.
